If I%26#39;m coming into Lawrence from the east on 10, and I want to get to the turnpike (I-70), should I go north on Massachusetts, or stay on 10 and get on west of Lawrence?
Thanks in advance for my father
Best (easiest) way through Lawrence?
I tend to do both. Most often I take Mass up to to 11th, then jog over one block to New Hampshire to avoid the slow stretch through the downtown.
For some reason I do the K-10 route more often when I am getting off I-70 and going to K-10. But I avoid the stretch of 10 that is along 23rd St across the south side of town. Instead, I take 31st Street to Haskell and then up to K-10.

We tend to continue with 10 along 23rd st. (which later become Clinton pkwy.) which connect on its far end again to the 10 (which goes around the city starting south of 31st st.) go north till you connect to the I-70 alternativly cotininue with 10 up to Iowa turn right and drive all the way to the 70 it should be easier than going through Mass.
gil...I didn%26#39;t reply earlier since I take the same route as you and thought maybe that wasn%26#39;t as good an idea, but it seems to be easier for me (although getting through Lawrence is only a problem on game days) LOL
If it is a game day then you best bet is actually to get to the other part of the 10, you can take left on Luisiana and then get to the itersection 31st st, turn right drive till Iowa and then take left and right into the 10. Or go all the way to Iowa and then take left to the 10
