Izumi is excellent! You can%26#39;t go wrong with Izumi Japanese Steakhouse / Sushi. It%26#39;s the best in the Kansas City area!

It%26#39;s a hopp%26#39;in place throughout the evening. Everything at Kona has always been very good! It%26#39;s the longest Happy Hour I%26#39;ve found in the KC area. Enjoy!

My favorite place is Kabuki at Crown Center Plaza. It will be a little bit of a drive for you but I think you will find it worthwhile. Kona Grill is a place to see and be seen. The music will be loud . Not that there is anything wrong with that. Just don%26#39;t plan on the typical serene sushi bar experience if you go.

Hello out there :)

I am hoping that someone can help me. My husband and I visited K.C. in March. We were out driving and found a beautiful neighborhood across from the Plaza. I have been trying to figure a street name or something to help me look at house listings in that area. Thank you so much for you help.

Does anyone have a recent experience with the Comfort Inn/Quality Inn in Hayes or Goodland Ks?

Make certain it has a roof! No really I believe in some very strong winds in the last two days the Hays one lost its roof. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn in Hays - its ok. Great sports bar to watch big screened tv.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Hays. Very good stay. Restaurants within walking distance.

There is also a brand new Hampton Inn on the north side of I-70 in Hays, not to be confused with the existing Hampton Inn on the southwest side.

Farmers Market in or near Overland Park/Lenexa area

Traveling to Overland Park/Lenexa the weekend of July 20th and was wondering if there is a great farmers market to visit on Saturday morning the 21st.

Also, has anyone stayed at a hotel with rooms with a kitchenette, an outdoor pool, is clean and safe and at a decent rate in the Overland Park/Lenexa area? If so, where and how much? and where did you get your rate?

The market features live music from 10AM-noon on Saturday, and the old Overland Park shoping area right around the market may also interest you.

The biggest farmer%26#39;s market in the area is at the City Market in downtown Kansas City, MO, about 20 minutes away.

I haven%26#39;t stayed there, but there is a small, family run motel just down Metcalf from the market that has a good rep and may be what you are looking for - White Haven Motor Lodge. http://www.whitehaven.biz/default.asp

It seems to have been transported in time 50 years. Always looks well kept and there is a nice pool area.

Rental Car suggestions

Looking to rent an economy car at or near the Kansas City airport. In checking major rental car companies websites, I see that the related taxes for renting a car at the airport almost doubles the cost of the rental. Any suggestions??

I have been told that you can get a better price by renting a car from neighboring towns of Leavenworth and Platte City. A cab or shuttle ride from the airport to these towns would be a small price to pay over the ridiculous taxes at the Kansas City Airport.

Sorry, but you can%26#39;t beat the system.

On weekdays, the rental rates are enough lower at the airport locations, that the taxi fare would eat up the modest savings in fees outside Kansas City. On the weekends, the airport rental rates are discounted so far that they are actually cheaper than Leavenworth or Platte City, even with all the extra taxes added in.
