Granny%26#39;s Chicken Ranch is free standing and near the Lodge. All of the dishes we have tried there have been good.

There is also an Arthur Bryant%26#39;s BBQ nearby, but I have never been pleased with the product at that location. For nearby BBQ, I would take State Avenue east a mile or two to Wyandotte BBQ.

I haven%26#39;t been to that location of Jazz: A Louisiana Kitchen, but have enjoyed meals at their original location. Also haven%26#39;t been to STIX, but it has been getting some good buzz.

Most of the other places near Great Wolf are chains, so you are probably already familiar with them. One place in the mall that you should at least walk through is T-Rex Cafe. The food is average, but the animated dinos are pretty interesting even to an adult. This is the very first location for T-Rex.

Ted%26#39;s is good, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Bob Evans, and Arthur Bryants are all places we%26#39;ve visited (agree that most are chains but many have good food and reasonable prices)

Go to the Legends shopping area, just down the street. Several great options, Yard House is the best. 100+ great beers on tap, great food and great atmosphere. Can%26#39;t miss. They have happy hour specials on a bunch of their apps. (very good deal) The phone mumber is 913-788-4500. If the weather is okay they have a nice outdoor tables as well.

STIX (sushi, Chinese or hibachi), Granite City Brewery, YardHouse, Famous Dave%26#39;s BBQ or Johnny Carino%26#39;s.

Have a great time at the GWL!
