British, and currently based in Wichita, my husband and I are interested in events and places to visit for the Labor Day weekend. Preferably within two hours drive. Thank you :)http://www.tripadvisor.com/GoListDetail-i14061-Relax_in_the_Flint_Hills.html

For something completely different, how the AirFest amateur rocketry event near Argonia, just a little southwest of Wichita?

These folks have hosted the annual Tripoli Rocketry Association national launch several times and hosted the inaugural Discovery Channel ';Rocket Challenge.'; AirFest is one of their biggest events of the year.

Rockets will launch steadily during the day, all weekend, perhaps 20-30 an hour. Some are small, but other rise well out of sight. Some of the most interesting ones are those that don%26#39;t go right. The BIG experimental rockets go up on Labor Day.

Free.
