Kansas family reunion

I will be planning a family reunion in Kansas next 4th of July weekend. There will be about 30 of us, with varied disposable incomes. We would like to find a place that has some character, where we could all be together. The only other necessity is that it is no more than an hour or so from Kansas City or Wichita airports.

Resorts or B%26amp;Bs might work. Given the time of year, A/C might be good.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

From most cities, you will find lower airfares to the Kansas City airport. It is a hub for Southwest and Midwest Airlines.

Lawrence is about the right distance from the airport. It is a neat, historic, college community that still has an active downtown and many unique restaurants. There are a number of museums to visit at the University of Kansas.

The Halcyon House B%26amp;B is within walking distance of the downtown and University. It has 9 bedrooms, and you could take over the whole house. http://www.thehalcyonhouse.com/

I stayed there about 7 years ago. It was pretty nice at that time. The Carriage House was particularly sweet.

I don%26#39;t think you will find any places that don%26#39;t have AC.

Thank you very much! We%26#39;ll look into it.
