Hello everyone! I know that this gets posted a lot, but I will be staying in Wichita at the end of the month by myself and looking for good places to eat, possibly deliver. I%26#39;ll be staying at the Holiday inn downtown, close to the convention center. Thanks in advance!
Places to eat downtown?
You have several choices and all are good. In the Old Town Square area there are Uptown Bistro, Imbiss Grill, Sabor and Cafe Modern.
Uptown Bistro has a mixed menu-European and American
Imbiss Grill has mostly German
Sabor is South American and some Cuban-recommended
Cafe Modern-I have never eaten here but they have great Gelato.
A block or so down the street is Larkspur and the Eaton Steakhouse(bring plenty of money but it is excellent). There are also several sportsbar type places in the same general area.
If you would like any more specific info just send me a private message.

Are you limited to places within walking distance?
There is also Cafe Bel Ami which is within walking distance. it is 10 minute or less walk straight up Broadway from your hotel.
You can find either websites or menus for most of these places by doing a search.
No, I feel pretty comfortable driving around Wichita, I have before, but this is the first time I%26#39;ve gone by myself. The suggestions so far sound great!
In that case...
Stroud%26#39;s Restaurant is in a 1930s barn. They serve good family style meals. They are best known for their chicken, but the smoked pork chops are also great.
Nu-Way Cafe on 1416 W Douglas Avenue (there are other locations), opened in 1930. They are famous for loose meat style hamburgers, but everything I have had there is good. They make there own, great, rootbeer.
Savute%26#39;s Italian Ristorante is decorated with an aviation theme and has a wide variety on the menu, not just Italian food. I like their fried oysters. Reasonably priced and casual.
B %26amp; C Barbeque only serves at lunch - Monday - Saturday. Best BBQ I have had in Kansas and the sides are very good. It is a buffet and the building is an old garage.
I%26#39;m from Chicago and would be considered a city guy in every regard. I was surprised by the quality of many of the restaurants here. Granted, there aren%26#39;t a ton of choices but the food is pretty good.
I like Uptown Bistro and B%26amp;C (I also work literally above Oeno, a GREAT wine bar).
If you%26#39;re mobile, try Chester%26#39;s and/or Bella Donna.
Enjoy.
