Should I Change Reservations?

We will be participating in the Hot Rod Power Tour which passes through Topeka in June. Everything is pretty much booked due to the event, but I was able to book at Residence Inn. However, my son would LOVE the huge slide at the Holiday Inn. Currently it is booked, but I was thinking of checking back closer to the tour date. I am also unsure of how much time we will have to use the pool since we will be at the event all day.

Residence Inn looks to have nicer accomodations and free breakfast. Is the holidome with slide worth switching to?

Should I Change Reservations?

If you mean the Holidome right off I-70 at 6th and Fairlawn, it has been renovated in the last couple of years. I live about a half mile from there, and it is booked most of the time. It is not near any other stores or restaurants and more in a neighborhood setting...funny that it used to be on the outskirts of town! LOL

The Residence Inn is by Wanamaker Road so near Westridge Mall, Wal-Mart, many restaurants, and lots of traffic. If you want to be in an area with more to do, then that would be a better selection.

Both properties are good although Holidome is older even though renovated, so it just depends on your preference (and price of the room). I haven%26#39;t seen the slide but can%26#39;t imagine it is very large since the pool is right by the lobby area...unless they%26#39;ve moved all that. If you have more questions, please feel free to send a Personal Message to me.

Should I Change Reservations?

I would not suggest switching to the Holidome. I was there for a little over a week and my youngest ended up getting sick from the dirty room. When the hotel is booked solid, it is hard to find a place to park and it gets very loud at night. Not to mention the pool area is not that big to begin with. If there are more than 10 people in the pool it is over-crowded. The pictures on the web-site are very misleading.

Thanks for the insight. We%26#39;ll stick with Residence Inn!

I%26#39;m a little late to this one, but ...

Good choice staying at Residence.

If your son needs water and slides, take him to the Baisdell Pool in Gage Park ... from Residence Inn, just go to north to Huntoon or south to 17th, then East 2 miles to Gage Blvd., then north to Gage Park (between 6th %26amp; 10th Streets). Don%26#39;t know how old your son is, but the pool will suit any age, and there is also a zoo and other attractions in the park.

Thank You! We will certainly check it out, if we have time.
